In the wake of romance, all sights are hazy with love; our Mood Exclusive Navy Rosy Visions Viscose Crepe displays blurry bunches of vibrant roses against a navy background. Due to tightly twisting fibers during weaving, crepe is deliciously textured with a grainy hand. Alternating the direction of these twists yields a springy drape that brings movement to your semi-formal looksand dare we mention that modest sheen? This light-to-medium weight fabric dreams of city-street-approved maxi skirts, in-office trousers, and date-night blouses. Semi-translucent; a lining may be desired.

Here are a few tips from our sewists to master crepes unique texture:

  1. Lower the thread tension on your sewing machine to prevent puckering
  2. Use a new, fine point needle
  3. To prevent slipping during cutting, line up your pieces with the pattern pieces, cut in single layers, and use a rotary cutter or tabletop scissors.
  4. Be patient and have fun!
